Clark
There are always reminders of how resilient and forgiving Goldens are. Clark came as such a reminder. We got an email Monday from a man that had a Golden with a very large hematoma in his ear. What happens is a dog gets an ear infection and if not treated it gets worse, painful and causes the poor dog to shake his head a lot. All that head shaking results in an ear that becomes inflamed with blood and in Clark’s case also puss as the entire ear became one massive infection. The owner could not afford the vet care so reached out for help by surrendering Clark.
We contacted a rescue in the area for help to get the boy out of the home and immediately to an ER vet as it was not hard to imagine the pain the poor boy must be in. Thankfully, the other rescue found a volunteer to grab the dog and dropped him off at an ER.
By 4 AM that next morning Clark was having surgery on his ear. Clark was also flea infested so the ear infection was not the only thing driving him nuts.
Yet having been miserable for some time, did not leave Clark as anything but a sweet boy that loves being with his people. He is also fine with other dogs. At the age of 7 years old he is looking for a home with someone around a lot that wants a best buddy to spend time.
