Sadie
This is 5 year old Sadie. Sadie was rescued from a puppy mill. She isn’t as timid as some of the dogs we have rescued from puppy mill situations. If Sadie is introduced slowly to new people, she warms up to them in a short time.
Sadie walks well on a leash unless a pesky squirrel goes by! 🐿️ She is housebroken, good with other dogs and loves hanging with her brother.
Sadie’s ideal home will need another dog, a physical fenced yard, and someone that can spend time petting this pretty girl.
Unfortunately Sadie had emergency surgery on February 25th as her abdomen was filled with pus after being spayed. There was a large abscess that was intertwined with her organs. She came out of surgery having some heart arrhythmia, but this was short lived. She was able to leave the hospital after 3 days.
Here is a note from Sadie’s foster mom: “Sadie was only three weeks removed from her puppy mill days when this happened. In the three weeks that she’s been with us, she was learning how to do all the dog things while experiencing many firsts in her 5 years! She is especially fond of top the head pet scratches, walks, an occasional tennis ball and, her absolute favorite, a pet bed! It took her a few days to figure out that it was for her, but once she did, THAT was her spot! She really is the sweetest girl. Please continue to prayer for her and any donation towards her care would be amazing!”
Sadie was able to go back to her foster home on February 27th. She was recovering nicely, but unfortunately headed back to the vet hospital on March 7th.
Her abscess returned. She had another ultrasound that proved good. There was no fluid seen around her organs and the blood work was ok. She had a dose of IV antibiotics and was able to return to her foster home. She had two additional injectable antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids at home with each dose. She is doing much better, but did have another ultrasound on March 14th which indicated the abscess they saw previously was smaller, but not gone. She was on a high powered antibiotic for 3 additional days and had another ultrasound late March and has been cleared by the vets as having no infection remaining !
To date, we have $13,906.67 in expenses for Sadie’s surgery and on-going care. We have more invoices coming 🙁 While we’ve raised over $11,000 so far, we still have a way to go.
